Brogers Creek
A special property, located in the picturesque valley of Brogers Creek (over the mountain from Berry) with one of the highest annual rainfall averages in NSW, this was a unique and challenging project.
Working alongside Arthouse Projects through plenty of wet and challenging days, we were able to overcome the slippery terrain and put in place a very special garden that retained and integrated all the great qualities of the site and previous established gardens, formed by the owner's hard labour over many years.
The established cottage garden sections around the building were such areas that were protected and carried on through most of the lower gardens spaces, and around the new art studio (IMBY KIT), which floats effortlessly within this extended planting.
At the top of the site a more native planting selection was used to blend with the borrowed landscape of gums, cedars and grassy understorey plants.
Natural stone excavated from the new driveway bank and acquired from neighbouring properties was used to create 'farm style' entry walls and terrace walls throughout the site.
The two curved entry walls at the top of the site greet you as you arrive around the bend, and immediately draw your eye down through the ornamental tree plantings and out to the escarpment and valley beyond, creating a dreamy Landscape setting.....particularly in the early morning fog
An engineered gravel driveway, lined with Pear trees weaves through the site, connecting the landscape from top to bottom, and opening up to the view and beautifully renovated home as it snakes around the garden, providing quite the arrival.
