This stunning Manly garden is a defining example of Formed Gardens' expertise in designing and building custom swimming pools in the most challenging of locations. When the owners of this sandstone-tiered Manly property approached Formed Gardens with a dream of creating a new swimming pool for their young family, our team set to work exploring every possibility.

Drawing on years of experience building custom concrete swimming pools in difficult Sydney locations, Formed Gardens identified the north-facing section of the garden as the optimal site for the new pool. Our designers expertly visualised how a custom concrete pool could work with — rather than against — the existing sandstone terracing and natural topography of the block.

The result is a beautiful lagoon-style swimming pool that nestles naturally into its garden setting. A curved glass window detail creates a stunning outlook from inside the home, while a curved timber batten detail softens the pool's façade — blending architecture and landscape in perfect harmony.

Flowing directly from the home's living area, the new entertaining courtyard features a custom-built BBQ bench, bespoke joinery and timber seating — creating a seamless indoor-outdoor connection that's perfect for Sydney family living. Every centimetre of this formerly challenging garden has been thoughtfully utilised to deliver a functional, beautiful outdoor space.
